Larsen Bervoets   °1979   (BE)

Larsen Bervoets (Antwerp, 1979) is a multi-disciplinary and experimental artist. In the course of his career, he has made several indoor and outdoor murals, worked on canvas, panels, fabricated his own sculptures, installations and furniture. He is fascinated by the interaction of colour and space, combined with perspective, the human point of view and natural play of light and shadow. You can often see him making small interventions in the strangest locations or making study models from ordinary cardboard in his studio.

The works he shows to the public (in the form of murals or canvas) are characterised by tight geometric compositions with lines, planes, shadows and graphic elements that give an impression of 'a space'. These creations are often complemented by colours and colour patterns to create an illusion of an extra dimension on a flat surface.

2D or not 2D, that's the question.
