It is based on a painting Tuymans made in 1992, which depicts the angel Tuymans’ mother placed under the Christmas tree every year.
Recreated by Tuymans as an 11 colour lithograph in the atelier of printer Rasmus Urwald around May 2004.
Luc Tuymans (born 1958) is a Belgian artist who lives and works in Antwerp. Tuymans is considered one of the most influential painters working today.
